AROUND THE POST

Our late Chaplain Jack Grantham received the State of Texas Chaplain Award from VFW Department of Texas. Chaplain was Jack’s most treasured position with the VFW and I know he is in Heaven smiling down on his Post for all we have achieved in this physical year.

UPCOMING EVENTS – Volunteers NEEDED

July 3 Tuesday Night Dinner and Dance Canceled
July 4 Annual Fish Fry – Free to Community
Bring a friend and enjoy a great meal. It would not hurt anyone’s feelings if you stuck around and helped wash dishes or what not.
July 21 Work day at the Post, begins at 8am with coffee and donuts. Lunch will be served to all workers. For more information contact Commander Crounse.

FROM THE COMMANDER’S DESK

I would like to thank you for the chance to serve as your Commander 2007/2008. We have come to the end of an exceptional year. With your help we finished the year 1st in District 21, 1st in Texas and had fun doing it. As you know by now we are an All-State Post and by July 1st we should be an All-American Post. Thanks goes to all the officers for all their hard work this past year. The New Officers will continue to work and keep this post the “Best in Texas”.
Tuesday Night Dinner will be cancelled July 3rd Only. We need the kitchen to prepare and serve our July 4th Public Fish Fry. There is a sign up sheet in the Canteen for help with the Fish Fry. Please, come out and help with this Annual Event. Last year we served

618 people plus cooks and helpers. This year should be even BIGGER!
We need volunteers for Tuesday Night Cooks for the 1st and 4th Tuesday Night, if we can not find volunteers to help us with this weekly event we may have to discontinue.
Again, I could not be prouder of our Officers from last year.

Commander
Lamar Crounse

WE MADE IT!

POST 2399

ALL STATE POST

and a good chance we will be

GREAT JOB FOLKS!

So now we need ideas for the All State Ceiling Tile and the All American Ceiling Tile in the Canteen. Submit all ideas to Commander Crounse.
