THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE
Dianna M. Wilder, USA

Christmas is coming, the lights are starting
to appear, flashing brightly from far and near.
People hustling about with their lists in hand,
trying to hurry and get back to work as fast
as they can.

Tiredness shows on their face                                                  Yes, Christmas is coming but take time out this
once again beginning the Christmas race.                          day to be thankful, and gracious and take time
Cards to write, gifts to wrap and then there's                    out to pray. For he died for our sins--
the dinners--don't forget about that.                                     no greater feat will be done so remember the
Ultimate Sacrifice--God gave us his son!

FROM THE COMMANDER’S DESK
Hello Again Comrades, Sisters, and Brothers:
I would like to welcome all Officers into there perspective positions and would like to Thank You for Serving.
Again, our Annual Senior Thanksgiving Dinner was a huge success. I was pleased to see everyone who turned out to help us give back to our community this Thanksgiving Season. I had many relay how the organization helped with having them come out to lend a helping hand. I hope to continue with this kind of organization next year to help people know when we will being doing different jobs to put the dinner on. We took the remainder of the Thanksgiving meal to our local Hope Shelter. We were pleased to have the meal piping hot when it hit the table, which was the compliment brought up the most by our guest. Thank you to all who showed up and gave of themselves during this annual event.
I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Prosperous New Year from Post 2399.
Commander

CHAPLAIN’S CORNER
Comrades:
I’m addressing a "touchy topic". I’m calling it "You Hurt My Feelings." How much time and energy we can waste on hurt feelings. Often it is self-inflicted pain. God gave us a nurturing nature for good reasons, but like everything good that God created, sin has polluted and damaged it, and if it is not controlled, that sensitive nature can become our Achilles heel, our fatal flaw, and a source of continual self-inflicted pain as we allow our feelings to be hurt far too easily.
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
Chaplain Crites
 FROM THE DESK OF THE
AUXILIARY TREASURER

Ladies the year is fast coming to an end. If you haven't paid your dues yet for 2008, please send them to me by DECEMBER 15TH. I need to process them and get them to Department Headquarters before the end of December in order for you to stay a member in good standing.
Also just to remind you that the Ladies Auxiliary has a Cancer Grant Program for its continuous and life members. After one year of continuous membership, members who must undergo chemotherapy and other procedures to fight cancer are eligible for a grant to help cover expenses. There is a limit of two grants per lifetime and the grants must be at least 12 months apart. This is not related to the Cancer Insurance offered by some Auxiliaries. The Auxiliary Treasurer has the necessary forms to file for this grant and also forms for the Cancer Insurance.
